What does MotorCar Doctors do for free?

Three quick jobs, with no strings attached. Each one is quick enough, and useful enough, that charging for it would be silly.

Is a clutch adjustment free?

Yes. A clutch that’s simply out of adjustment can slip, drag, or refuse to go into gear. No new parts will fix a geometry problem. It takes us a few minutes to check and adjust, so we don’t charge for it. If it turns out to be more than an adjustment, we’ll show you exactly why before doing anything else. Is a brake inspection free?

Yes. We’ll measure your pads and rotors and tell you what you’ve actually got left, with photographs. Knowing you have 40% remaining is worth as much as being told you need brakes. It may be worth more, because it means you can plan. Free brake inspection.

Will you check my check engine light for free?

Yes. Bring it in and we’ll pull the code and tell you what you’re dealing with, no obligation. The first 15 minutes of a technician’s time is free. A code isn’t a diagnosis, and we won’t pretend it is. But knowing whether you’re looking at a loose gas cap or something that needs real attention is a reasonable thing to find out for nothing.
