Rob Lamont

Rob Lamont has been a cornerstone of MotorCar Doctors since 1999, bringing over four decades of experience in the automotive industry. With 42 years in the field and nearly three decades with the shop, Rob represents the kind of consistency, reliability, and technical expertise that defines MotorCar Doctors.

Rob’s strength comes from experience: real, hands-on experience gained over years of diagnosing and repairing vehicles. He has an exceptional ability to accurately identify customer concerns and perform repairs correctly the first time, helping keep the shop efficient and customers confident in the work being done.

As Lead Technician, Rob sets the standard in the shop. He leads by example through the quality of his work, his attention to detail, and his deep understanding of vehicle systems. His approach is simple: do the job right, don’t cut corners, and stand behind the work.

What sets Rob apart is the depth of his knowledge. Over the years, he has performed an extraordinary number of clutch repairs, likely more than most technicians in the country, making him one of the most experienced specialists in this area. Combined with decades of training and hands-on work, his expertise is a major asset to both the team and customers.

Rob is known for his steady, no-nonsense approach. He shows up every day, does the work the right way, and plays a key role in maintaining the high standards MotorCar Doctors is known for.

A graduate of Mountain View High School in Vancouver, Washington, Rob has deep roots in the Pacific Northwest and takes pride in his work and his craft.

Outside of the shop, Rob enjoys fishing throughout the Pacific Northwest and spending time at the track, drag racing his ’70 Nova at Portland International Raceway and Woodburn Dragstrip.
